F.E.A.R.:
At 640x480 with minimum details, F.E.A.R. proves to be a very good CPU test, as the graphics are throttled right back and it is almost as if you're playing the game on an original PlayStation. The Core 2 Duo E6700 managed to outperform the Pentium Extreme Edition 965 by over 70%.
Rather interestingly though, is the fact that Conroe still has plenty of juice left in it at 1280x1024 with maximum in-game details. At the higher resolution, the performance advanced dropped below 35%, but that is still mighty impressive.
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast:
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast followed a similar pattern, with Conroe's performance advantage edging up towards 65%.
The performance advantage over Presler almost stays as it was, only dropping to 60% at 1280x1024 with maximum in-game details.
